VIHAAN’S POV:
It’s been two weeks since our family met the Aroras, and since then, Dad has been so happy — even Mom and Chachu–Chachi too.
For the last ten days, I’ve been caught up in this goddamn deal. Finally today, I cracked it. To celebrate, I went with my partner to a small café owned by his niece. He wanted to celebrate there, and I agreed.
The café was small and cozy — perfect for a date. We finished our business, and I went downstairs (since it had both upper and lower floors). I was talking with someone when suddenly, I saw her.
Chahat.
But what was she doing here? I was about to go toward her when my business partner stopped me, saying he wanted to discuss something. That’s when I noticed — Chahat wasn’t alone. She was with a guy.
I don’t know why, but seeing them together, laughing and smiling, filled me with rage. My fists clenched, and I wanted to go over there and smack that guy’s head. How dare he…
Just then, a call came from the office, forcing me to leave. But before going, I looked again through the glass window. Our eyes met. For a brief moment, she looked at me… then broke the eye contact and turned back to that guy.
Seriously?
Before I lost my senses, I left from there.
Back at the office, a meeting was already going on with my employees. I was in no good mood, and their so-called “presentation” was a disaster.
I fired three employees right there. They weren’t professional in their work anyway.
Aah, what a hectic day. And yet all I wanted to know was — who was that guy with Chahat?
At Night
It was already nine by the time I wrapped up work. I hadn’t realized how late it was. Still, the scene from the afternoon wouldn’t leave my mind.
But why? Why is it bothering me so much?
I reached home, and Mom greeted me.
“You came, beta? Go and freshen up. Dinner is ready, sab aate hi honge.”
(Everyone will be here any moment.)
I nodded and went to my room.
At the dining table
We were eating peacefully when Papa suddenly said, “You know, Veena, this morning I called Gautam. He told me that they’re arranging Chahat’s marriage. Not finalized yet, but haan, ho hi jayegi jaldi.”
(It will be finalized soon.)
“Wow, that’s great news! Sanjay didn’t tell me,” Veer Chachu said.
I kept listening quietly. But the moment I heard that she was getting married… it hurt.
It felt like someone had stabbed my heart with a knife.
But Chahat can’t get married. Not this soon. Not like this.
But why… why does it hurt me so much?
My thoughts were broken by Mom’s voice. “You know, Maya, I always wished Chahat would become my bahu (daughter-in-law)… but shayad it’s not possible now.”
“Di, even I liked her the most. But humara sapna sapna reh jayega,” Chachi added sadly.
(Our dream will remain just a dream.)
“But Mom, Badi Maa, I’m so small! How can you even think about my marriage? And I always thought of Chahat as my sister,” Krish said unseriously.
Chachi smacked his head while Mom added, “I want her for our Vihaan. But he doesn’t want to get married.”
For some reason, hearing that made me… happy. A smile crept on my lips, though I didn’t show it.
“Badi Maa, you’re joking, right? Bhai and marriage? Impossible. And thank God Chahat di isn’t marrying Bhai — bichari ki life kharab ho jati.”
(Thank God, Chahat di isn’t marrying him — her life would’ve been ruined.)
I glared at Krish. How dare he?
“Vo kaise, baccha?” Dad asked him. (How so, child?)
“Bade Papa, Bhai is always in his office. And you know his anger. Our Chahat di is so sweet and innocent. So…” Krish shrugged.
Everyone laughed and agreed with him. Seriously? You all are agreeing with this nonsense?
“KRISH,” I snapped sternly. He got the message and went silent.
After dinner, I went back to my room. And all I could think of… was her.
Next Day
It was afternoon, and I was on my way home from the office. I was in no mood to work today. All I kept thinking about was her marriage.
Just then, Chachi called me. She asked me to pick up her dress from a boutique on my way home since it was nearby. She sent me the location, and I went.
After receiving her dress, I noticed two girls shopping together. One of them was Chahat.
A smile automatically formed on my lips — but it disappeared as soon as I remembered her marriage.
I walked toward her and grabbed her wrist. Not tightly to hurt her, but firmly enough that she couldn’t pull away.
“Wha… what are you doing? Leave my hand,” Chahat said, wiggling to free herself.
AUTHOR’S POV:
“Never… chodne ke liye thodi pakda hai.”
(Never… I didn’t hold it just to let go.)
Vihaan dragged her out of the boutique, leaving her friend — none other than Diti — behind. He took Chahat near a park, which was empty since it was afternoon. He pulled her under a tree, finally letting go of her wrist.
“Why are you doing this?” he asked in frustration.
Chahat folded her arms across her chest. “What am I doing, Mr. Rathore?” she snapped back.
Her calling him Mr. Rathore didn’t bother him; his only focus was on the question burning in his heart.
“Marriage. Why are you doing that?” he demanded, his anger and frustration clear.
“Why does it matter to you? Main kisi se bhi shaadi karu… aur aap hain kaun mujhe yeh puchne wale?”
(Why does it matter to you if I marry someone? Who are you to ask me that?)
That was it. Vihaan lost control. He couldn’t stand the thought of Chahat with any other guy. Don’t ask him why — even he didn’t have the answer.
He grabbed her by the waist, pulling her flush against him, and before she could protest further — he crashed his lips against hers.
His lips moved roughly over hers, urgent, desperate. He sucked her lower lip, trying to part her lips, but she resisted, pushing against his chest. Still, he didn’t let go, kissing her harder, his frustration pouring out. They were so engrossed in the kiss, unaware that someone was watching them from afar.
CHAHAT’S POV:
He kissed me. He fucking kissed me.
I kept pushing at his chest, hitting him, trying to break free, but he wouldn’t let go. Then he pinched my waist, and an involuntary sound escaped me, “Ahh… ummm.”
Taking advantage, he slipped his tongue into my mouth, kissing me furiously — no, devouring me.
I was out of breath. I hit his chest again, and finally, after some seconds, he pulled away with a pop sound.
We stared at each other. He cupped my cheeks, his thumb caressing my skin gently while I gasped for air.
But then anger surged inside me. I shoved him back with all the force I had. He stumbled a step, surprised.
SLAP.
I slapped him hard across the face. He held his cheek, shocked, staring at me.
“How dare you?” I spat, my voice trembling.
I saw something in his eyes then — possession, desire.
“Chahat… liste—” he began softly.
“Don’t. Just stop. Stay away from me, Mr. Vihaan Singh Rathore,” I cut him off, my voice cold.
I turned and left, tears spilling down my cheeks. Quickly, I wiped them away. I didn’t even know where I was running to — until I bumped into Arun and Diti.
Diti noticed my tear-streaked face and immediately hugged me. I knew they had a million questions, but right now, I couldn’t explain. All I needed was comfort — and my best friends were right there.
Later, they took me to the beach. Watching the sunset always calmed us — it reminded us that even when things sink, they can still look beautiful.
I shared everything with them. They already knew about the proposal with Ansh, but not about Vihaan. I told them everything — who he was, who he reminded me of, and what he had done today.
Arun got furious. He wanted to teach Vihaan a lesson right away, but Diti and I stopped him. “This isn’t the right time. Please, don’t create more problems.” After much convincing, he finally calmed down and agreed not to go.
Just then, Diti stood up. When I asked why, she said she had urgent work and left.
I sat with Arun a while longer, and after some time, we both went home.
On my way back, the earlier incident kept replaying in my mind — his touch, his aggression.
I don’t know what’s going on in his head.
Most importantly — what does he want from me? Why did he do that?

Author’s Note 💌
Hey guys, how’s the chapter? First of all, sorry for the late update. I haven’t really been in my senses these past few days — so many things are happening around me that I can’t even explain to anyone. Still, I hope you enjoyed this chapter, especially the kissing scene. 🙈 Honestly, I’m innocent, I don’t really know how to write that kind of scene because I don’t know how it actually happens 😅 but I tried my best for you all.
As a writer, I’ll admit I don’t personally love this chapter too much because my mind is blank with everything going on right now… but writing always helps me calm down, and posting it here makes me feel even better.
About the next chapter — I don’t know when it’ll be out, so sorry in advance for the wait. 💕 But finally, I’m here, and I’ll keep trying. Please do follow me, stay tuned with the story, and keep showering your love. Your support honestly means the world to me.
Lots of love to you all,
