CHAPTER-7

CHAHAT’S POV:

I know I was angry, but itna sab nahi kehna chahiye tha...
[Translation: I shouldn’t have said all that.]

I was walking toward home, lost in my thoughts — Did I do the right thing by venting out all my frustration in anger? Or was he right in what he did to me?
But one thing I was sure of — I won’t forgive him. What he did was wrong. I didn’t do anything. I was innocent.

As I was walking, I noticed a boy in the middle of the road, collecting papers. On the other side, a car was approaching fast. Without thinking, I ran toward the boy to save him.

I pushed him to the other side, and we both landed safely away from the car.

“Finally, I saved him,” I thought to myself.

We both stood up. He was dusting off the dirt from his clothes. I turned to him and asked if he was okay. He nodded and said yes.

AUTHOR’S POV:

“Are you okay, di?” the boy asked Chahat.

“Hmm, I’m okay... Btw, dhyan kahan tha aapka? Dekh ke nahi chal sakte? Aapka accident ho jata abhi.”
[Translation: Where was your attention? Can’t you walk carefully? You could’ve had an accident.]

Chahat scolded the boy gently.

“Sorry, next time mein dhyan rakhunga…”
[Translation: Sorry, I’ll be careful next time.]

He replied sincerely.

“You better be,” she said and bent down to pick up her bag that had fallen on the road.

“By the way, what is your name, di?... Umm, don’t mind if I call you di,” the boy asked shyly.

Chahat smiled and said, “My name is Chahat, and no, I won’t mind you calling me di. You’re like my little brother.”

“Hi, myself Krish. Nice to meet you and thank you so much for saving me. Agar lag jata na toh family daat-ti.”
[Translation: If I had gotten hurt, my family would’ve scolded me.]

Krish said while scratching the back of his neck.

Just then, he noticed Chahat’s hand bleeding.

“Di, your hand is bleeding! We need to treat this ASAP. It’s because of me you got hurt,” Krish said, genuinely concerned.

“Naah, Krish. This isn’t your fault, and ye choti si chot hai — thik ho jayegi, don’t worry.”
[Translation: It’s a small wound — it’ll heal.]

Chahat tried to comfort him, noticing how worried he was getting.

“No, we need to treat this. Ek kaam karte hain — paas mein hi mera ghar hai, hum wahan chalte hain.”
[Translation: Let’s do one thing — my house is nearby, let’s go there.]

He insisted.

“Krish, iski koi zarurat nahi hai. Zyada badi chot nahi hai,” she tried to explain,
[Translation: Krish, there's no need. It's not a serious wound.]

But Krish didn’t listen. He said the wound was bleeding and he wouldn’t let her go without treating it.

So, he gently dragged her with him.

On the way, he told her they had a family doctor at home who would help. Every five minutes, he kept saying sorry — guilt written all over his face.

Chahat kept repeating: “No need to say sorry. Don’t feel guilty.”

Finally, they reached his house.
Well — not a house — a mansion.

Chahat was mesmerized after seeing Krish’s house. He took her inside.

He made her sit on the couch and immediately called their family doctor. While waiting, Chahat and Krish were chatting, when suddenly Maya (Vihaan’s aunt) came hearing voices.

She looked at Chahat and asked Krish about her.

Krish explained everything — how she saved him and how she got hurt.

Maya saw Chahat’s bleeding hand and got worried.

Time passed while they talked to Chahat. The family doctor arrived, treated her hand, and advised not to put stress on it. “It’s not severe,” he said, “It’ll heal in 4–5 days.”

They thanked the doctor.

As they were chatting, Maya suddenly asked Chahat:

Maya: “Beta, did we meet before?”

Krish: “Aapko aisa kyun lagta hai maa?”
[Translation: Why do you feel that, Mom?]

Maya: “Kyunki mujhe lag raha hai main Chahat se pehle bhi mil chuki hoon.”
[Translation: Because I feel like I’ve met Chahat before.]

Chahat: “Aunty, mujhe bhi aapse milke kaafi khushi ho rahi hai, and I’m getting a familiar feeling too — but I don’t think we’ve met before.”
[Translation: I’m also happy to meet you and feel some familiarity, but I don’t think we’ve met.]

She said politely.

Just then, Veena and Jay came in from the entrance — they had gone shopping.

Maya introduced Chahat to them and told them how she had saved Krish.

Chahat had her back toward them. As Jay Singh Rathore entered, he scolded Krish for his carelessness and then turned toward Chahat.

The moment Veena and Jay saw Chahat — they both went silent.
Chahat also stood still — she hadn’t expected them to be here.

Veena had tears in her eyes. She suddenly hugged Chahat tightly.

Chahat also had tears — she hugged her back.

Then, she walked toward Jay. He gently patted her head and blessed her.

Veena: “How are you, my child?”

Chahat: “I’m good, aunty. How have you all been? How’s uncle? And your health? Hope uncle ab apna BP nahi badhate honge.”
[Translation: I hope uncle doesn't raise his blood pressure anymore.]

Tears kept flowing from her eyes — it felt like she got her family back.

Veena: “No, we’re doing fine. Aur uncle ka beta hai na — unhe stress lene hi nahi deta ab.”
[Translation: And our son doesn’t let him take stress anymore.]

She chuckled while still teary-eyed.

Suddenly, Chahat went quiet.

She softly asked:
“V... vo... kaisa... hai...?”
[Translation: H-How… is he?]

And suddenly — the room fell silent.

VIHAAN’S POV:

In his office…

Ugh… What’s wrong with me yaar?
Ever since I met that Chahat, my mind’s just stuck on her. That TIKHI MIRCHI.
[Translation: That spicy chilli.]

And every time we meet, sab gadbad kyun ho jaata hai?
[Translation: Why does everything go wrong?]

Why do I keep getting pulled toward her?

Frustrated, I punched my desk and called my PA.

“Clear my schedule for the day. I’ve got a severe headache. If I don’t go home now, I’m done. These thoughts are killing me.”

I left my office and drove straight to my mansion.

But when I entered — what I saw left me stunned.

Chahat was sitting with Mom, Dad, Chachi, and Chachu.

Seriously?!

Am I hallucinating… or is she really here? Why would she come here?

Mumma looked at me, smiled, and hugged me.

“Sahi time par aaye ho, beta ji,” she said.
[Translation: You’ve come at just the right time, dear.]

I didn’t understand what she meant.

Then… Chahat saw me.

Our eyes met.

She looked shocked, like she wasn’t expecting me to be here.
But why? And how is she here?

These questions were running wild in my mind — and if I don’t get answers soon, I swear my head will explode with this damn headache.
