Chahat’s POV:
On the weekend, I met my two friends (Diti and Arun) and told them about that incident. I also told them that he was looking at me and constantly reminding me of him. They told me not to worry, that he’ll never come back — he left you years ago, and they were right. It’s just me who can’t forget it.
After all our chit-chatting, we had lots of fun and we spent the weekend together.
Monday Morning
Today is Monday and a working day.
It’s not like ki mujhe kaam karna nahi pasand, it’s just mujhe meri beauty sleep kharab nahi karni hoti hai.
[Translation: It’s not like I don’t like working; I just hate ruining my beauty sleep.]
I hate it when my lovely sleep is disturbed by the alarm.
Anyway, I got ready for the day and went to school.
In the Classroom
I was in the classroom taking my class, and suddenly a call disturbed me. I picked it up and found that it was one of my student’s mothers. She told me that her son had mistakenly taken his grandfather’s important file and that her husband needed it urgently. She explained that she was in the hospital with a gynaecologist since she is pregnant and couldn’t come, so she requested:
“Sorry Chahat ma’am, I’m troubling you, but please can you go and give this file to Aarav’s father? I would’ve come myself, but I’m stuck in the hospital.”
“Don’t worry, I’ll do that. Please send me the address. I’ll give it to him after my class,” I said sweetly.
“Thank you, ma’am, and sorry… aapki lecture miss ho gaye humari wajah se.”
[Translation: Your lecture got missed because of us.]
“Not at all ma’am, this is the last class anyway. Just send me the address, I’ll deliver the file to Aarav’s father’s office,” I said politely.
After receiving the address, I went to Aarav, took the file from him, and explained that this shouldn’t happen again.
Then, after informing the school, I left for the place where Aarav’s father works.
At the RATHORE.INC office…
After reaching there, I asked the receptionist about Mahesh Khurana (Aarav’s father), and she told me the directions. On my way, I got confused and ended up near the server room. I left the file on a table in the corridor and left.
No malice. No crime.
But… caught on camera.
NEXT DAY....
I was on my way to school when I got a call — it was from the principal. He asked me to come soon.
I hurried to school, riding my scooty, and the only thing I was thinking about was: Why did Principal Sir call me directly? Is something wrong? Or is it just me overthinking?
“Everything is fine, Chahat. Yes, fine,” I kept telling myself.
With all those thoughts and self-encouragement, I finally reached the school and went into the principal’s office.
Inside were the principal, management staff, some teachers, Dev Sir, and Shefali.
I asked what had happened.
And all I got to know was… “RATHORE.INC CEO filed an FIR against you.”
That shocked me.
The words just wouldn’t process — FIR against me? Why?
Even when I asked Sir, he said they didn’t know in detail, but some important company file or data had been leaked, and I was the suspect.
I told him I didn’t do it.
He said he couldn’t help me, since it’s RATHORE.INC — but he could arrange a meeting with the CEO.
I said, “Please. It’ll be a great help.”
I still can’t imagine what’s happening or why it’s happening to me.
My anxiety is increasing. Police station, hearing — everything is haunting me again.
But I said to myself:
“Chahat, kuch nahi hoga. Don’t panic. Tu kisi ko apna vulnerable side nahi dikha sakti.”
[Translation: Chahat, nothing will happen. Don’t panic. You can’t show your vulnerable side to anyone.]
Then, Principal Sir informed me that I had an appointment with the CEO in one hour.
I came out of the office and found Dev Sir and Shefali waiting for me.
“Are you okay, dear?” Shefali asked.
“I’m fine, don’t worry,” I said with a smile — but I knew it was fake.
“Mujhe jana chahiye, appointment hai.”
[Translation: I have to go, I have an appointment.]
“Main bhi chalunga,” Dev Sir said.
[Translation: I’ll come with you.]
“No sir, it’s my problem. I’ll go alone; I’ll fix everything.”
“Are you sure?” he asked.
“Yes sir, don’t worry,” I said and left toward the parking area.
I took my Scooter and went toward RATHORE.INC.
And when I reached — what I saw was:
Holy. Molly. Cow. What a huge building.
(Add an office pic here)
I took a breath and entered the office. Damn — the luxury of the design! I was impressed. But I snapped out of it and reminded myself why I was here.
I went to the reception area and asked about the CEO. I said I had an appointment. She directed me and told me to go to the 47th floor by lift.
I did as she said.
I read the nameplate: “CEO Office”, and knocked on the door.
A voice from inside said, “Come in.”
As I entered, I saw a man sitting on a chair with his back facing me. I nervously said:
“Hello sir, I have an appointment with you.”
“Oh, you finally came, Ms. Fraud,” a voice said.
The man turned.
It was him. The guy from the construction site. That paint Wala rude jerk.
“You?” I asked him — shocked and angry.
He had the slightest smirk on his face but covered it immediately. He said with a cold face:
“Yes. Didn’t you see the nameplate before coming here?”
I calmed myself and replied:
“Sir, I’m just here to clear my name and nothing else. The FIR — why did you do it?”
He stood up from his seat and came very close to me. I slowly started stepping back. And in that moment, my foot stumbled and I fell on the sofa — and I grabbed his tie.
Which pulled him down over me.
Now, he was over me and I was stuck — a literal sandwich between the sofa and him.
We were so close that if either of us moved even a little — a kiss would’ve happened.
But then I heard his voice:
“Do you really don’t know what you did? Okay, wait. Let me show you.”
He stood up, went to his desk, brought his laptop, and showed me the CCTV footage.
It had a blurry image of me in that room and a video of me exiting.
“So, Ms. Chahat, ab kya kehna hai aapko? You know you stole a confidential file and important data of our company,” he asked with a straight face.
(So, what do you have to say now?)
Tears started flowing.
Vihaan’s POV:
“I… I didn’t do that… plea..se believe me,” she said while crying.
I don’t know why, but I couldn’t bear to see her crying.
It felt like someone was tearing my heart apart.
I felt like hugging her, but I couldn’t.
“You didn’t do that? Then who, Miss?” I asked.
“Mr. Rathore, please believe me. I didn’t do it. I came to your office yesterday to deliver a file to my student’s father. I got lost and left the file in that room. You can ask if you want.”
Her tears didn’t stop. Her eyes were red. Her cheeks were red and puffy from crying.
“If you didn’t, then who, Miss?” I said again, straight-faced.
“We checked the CCTV. You're the only one who went there, and after you left — the file was missing too. You should be thankful that we’ve only filed an FIR. If we had issued an arrest warrant, you’d be in jail by now.”
I tried to warn her. Somewhere, I felt like this girl couldn’t do such a thing.
But I’m someone who listens to logic — not emotions.
She stood up from the sofa and wiped her tears.
She looked cute while doing this — my mind mocked me.
Don’t get distracted, Vihaan.
She said:
“Believe me or not, I didn’t do it. And I’ll prove myself innocent.”
Then she picked up her bag and left the office — crying.
Why can’t I bear seeing her cry like that? My heart aches.
After she left, I looked at the CCTV from my laptop again. She was still crying outside.
I wanted to console her. I don’t know why.
I called my PA and said:
“I want full CCTV footage — something’s not right. I don’t think Chahat can do this.”
PA: “Sir, we’re working on it. You’ll get the proof soon.”
Me: “Hmm… make sure it’s done before my next meeting ends.”
Author’s POV:
After the meeting, Vihaan returned to his office and called his PA and the team working on the file case.
Samarth showed him something — and Vihaan’s anger exploded.
He closed his eyes. A crying Chahat appeared in his mind. Guilt washed over him.
He immediately called someone and asked for Chahat’s location.
Soon, a guard entered and pushed a man in front of Vihaan — crying.
It was Rohan — the man who had tried to steal the file and tamper with the CCTV.
“Why did you do this?”
“Sir, I’m sorry… your rival company gave me money and blackmailed me. They said they’d harm my parents if I didn’t do it.” He pleaded.
Vihaan gave a signal — and his guard took him away.
What would happen next… even God didn’t know.
At the Temple
Vihaan received a call from his trusted man. Chahat’s location was tracked — she was at a temple.
Vihaan immediately left.
20 minutes later, he reached.
He saw Chahat talking to kids — and smiling.
He approached to talk to her, but as he got closer — she saw him and said:
“Why do you come here? Pehle jo rulaya, kya kaafi nahi tha kya?”
[Translation: Wasn’t what you did to hurt me before enough?]
He wanted to apologize, but words failed him.
“No, it’s not like that. I came here—”
She cut him off.
“Kya? Jail me daalna hai? You know what? I hate you. Pata nahi kyun main tumse mili.”
[Translation: What, you want to put me in jail? I hate you. I don’t even know why I ever met you.]
Her words felt like bullets.
He finally managed to say:
“Maine FIR wapas le li hai. Don’t worry, tum sahi thi. Tumne kuch nahi kiya.”
[Translation: I’ve withdrawn the FIR. You were right. You didn’t do anything.]
But what she said next crushed him:
“Mujhe laga tha aap acche insaan honge. But because of you, aaj meri naukri daav par lagi hai. Because of you, I went through all this. Aur ab aap yahan declare karne aaye ho? Tum samajhte kya ho apne aap ko? Jo mann mein aaya kar diya. Tumhe kya laga, tum mere sath ye karoge aur main weak pad jaungi? Nahin. CHAHAT ARORA itni kamzor nahi hai. Us construction site ka badla le rahe the na? Mil gaya badla. Ab next time mere raste mein mat aana. Agar aaye… to mujhe bhi nahi pata main kya karungi.”
[Translation: I thought you were a good person. But because of you, I almost lost my job. You did whatever you wanted without thinking. You think I’d just break down? No. Chahat Arora is not weak. You wanted revenge for that construction site? You got it. Just don’t come in my way again — or even I won’t know what I’ll do.]
And with that…
She walked away.
And Vihaan?
He stood there, realizing:
This time… I really messed up.
