CHAPTER-3

VIHAAN'S POV:

The next day was as usual—nothing new. I was working in my office when suddenly, Samarth informed me about a potential issue with the ARZZ project in India. Due to a lack of supervision, problems could arise. He was right; we needed someone to manage things there because, while everything was running smoothly here, it was getting difficult over there.

Alright, I had decided what to do…

I left the office earlier than usual and went home to discuss this with my family since the project might take over a year to complete.

As soon as I reached home, Dad called me to the living room, saying he wanted to discuss something important. I told him I would join them in a few minutes after taking a shower.

When I entered the living room, I saw everyone sitting in the hall, deep in discussion.

I walked toward them and greeted everyone.

ā€œBeta, we need to tell you something,ā€ Dad said.

ā€œSame here, Dad. I also have something important to share with you all. But first, you tell me what happened,ā€ I replied.

ā€œBeta, we are thinking of moving back to India. As you know, we left our country years ago, but now we’ve decided to return to where we truly belong. Most importantly, you know Krish (Vihaan’s cousin) went to Mumbai for his studies, and Veer and Maya are alone there. Last month, Veer’s health worsened, soā€¦ā€ Dad explained.

ā€œActually, Dad, I also came home early to discuss this. As you know, we secured the ARZZ project, and for that, I have to leave for India. It will take a long time to complete, but now I feel relieved knowing that you all will be coming with me,ā€ I said.

Everyone seemed satisfied with my decision.

AUTHOR’S POV:

As the Rathore family was discussing when they would leave, Anaya suddenly burst into tears, making everyone worried.

Veena immediately asked, ā€œWhat happened, bacha? Why are you crying?ā€

ā€œMumma, you all will leave me, and I’ll be alone here,ā€ Anaya said while sobbing.

ā€œYou can always come visit us anytime. Aarav will take you to meet us,ā€ Jay reassured her.

ā€œNo, I’ll still miss you all,ā€ Anaya said, still upset.

ā€œThen leave Jiju and come with us,ā€ Vihaan teased.

ā€œHmph! Why would I leave my jaan alone?ā€ Anaya said angrily.

(Author’s Note: Sorry, I forgot to introduce ā€˜Aarav Suryawanshi.’ He is Anaya Rathore’s husband. They got married two years ago in a love-cum-arranged marriage, and as you already know, she is now pregnant.)

ā€œAlright, baba, don’t leave your jaan. I was just teasing you,ā€ Vihaan said, and Anaya playfully hit him on the head. He pretended to be hurt.

ā€œSo, beta, when have you decided to leave for India? Let us know so we can prepare accordingly. You know, I am so excited to go back,ā€ Veena said eagerly.

ā€œMom, I’m leaving next week. If you all are okay with it, we can shift next week,ā€ Vihaan replied.

ā€œAlright, then it’s decided—next week. I’ll inform Veer about our arrival,ā€ Jay said as he went to make a call. Meanwhile, Veena, Anaya, and Vihaan continued their conversation, with the siblings teasing each other as always.

After that, they all went to their respective rooms.

Vihaan lay on his bed, lost in thought, trying to understand the strange feeling he was having about going to India.

There was something unusual—he was happy, yet sad, and an odd nervousness filled him, as if something in his life was about to change…

AUTHOR’S NOTE:

Why do you think Vihaan is feeling this way?
Is something really going to happen?
Stay tuned…
