CHAPTER-2

VIHAAN'S POV:

Present time: (In London)

Alarm beep….

Time 4.50am

Again, I woke up with a severe headache… I’ve been experiencing this for the past eight years. I don’t know why I have the same nightmare every day or who the people I see in my dreams are…

With all these thoughts, I woke up and went to my gym because it’s the only place where I find peace. I came back after my workout, and now it’s 6:45 AM as I get ready for work.

So, I am Vihaan Singh Rathore. I don’t trust people easily, and some say I’m rude and ruthless, but it doesn’t matter to me. I am here because of my hard work. Currently, I am the CEO of RATHORE.INC.

When we were in India, my father established this company. After some years, we faced major financial problems, but when I decided to take over, I ensured that our company would be named among the top companies in the world—and I did it. We now have multiple branches across various countries, and I am proud of myself.

But still, I am not happy because I lost a part of my life in that accident. The worst part is, no matter how much I try to remember, I just can’t. And as a gift, I am left with these useless nightmares…

But this is who I am…

At Rathore Mansion

Everyone was present at the dining table for breakfast.

As I arrived, I greeted Mum and Dad (Veena & Jay) and my annoying elder sister, Ahana. She had come from her in-laws' house because she wanted to spend time with us and share some good news—she is pregnant.

So, we are taking extra care of her, and Mum is pampering her like she was lost somewhere and has now been found.

I love my sister, but sometimes I hate her because she annoys me the most.

Mum: "Come, beta… So, what have you thought about yesterday’s topic?"

Me: "Ahh… Not again, Mum…"

Mum: "Then when, beta? You’re already 28. Will you only get married when you become an old man?"

Dad and Ahana laughed.

Mum: "Yes, yes, you both laugh! As if you have nothing better to do. Instead of making fun, at least try to talk some sense into this useless boy!"

Dad & Ahana (in unison): "We’re out of this discussion."

Me: "Mom, I don’t want to get married right now. Please, no more discussion on this. I’m only 28; I want to explore my life, you know."

Mum: "Beta, you can still explore life after marriage… If you like someone, just tell us. We are very open-minded."

Ahana: "If you like boys, we’re ready to accept that too."

Me: "Shut up, yaar! There’s nothing like that!"

I quickly finished my breakfast, said goodbye, and left for the office.

At Rathore Inc.

As I reached my office, my PA, Samarth, came to inform me about my meetings for the day.

Currently, we have been working on a project for the past six months, which is extremely important for our company. It’s a collaboration with ARZZ, an Italian company. If we secure this deal, it will bring huge profits, benefiting both our India and Italy branches significantly.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.

"Come in," I said.

"Sir, we cracked the ARZZ deal," Samarth informed me.

"Good," I responded.

"Sir, aren’t you happy?" Samarth asked.

"Nope, I am," I replied.

After giving me further details about my meetings, he left, and I got engrossed in my work.

Back at Rathore Mansion

I returned home, and Mom called me for dinner. I told her I would come after freshening up.

After taking a shower, I went for dinner. While we ate, Dad congratulated me and appreciated my hard work. Soon after, Mum and Di also wished me, and I thanked them before we all retired to our rooms.

It was midnight, and I was working on my laptop. But sleep was far away from me.

Then, a thought crossed my mind—Who is she…?

With that, I drifted into sleep.

Author’s Note:

Who is Vihaan thinking about?
